This Full Moon at 1° Capricorn will be in opposition to the Sun at 1° Cancer (180°).
Full Moons always present us with the opportunity to check in and evaluate how we may be balancing the energy in our lives:
Cancer: The higher expression of Cancer includes being nurturing, family-oriented, emotionally sensitive, security-seeking and psychic/intuitive. The lower expression could mean being overly moody or sensitive, dependent, fearful and shy.
Capricorn: The best qualities of Capricorn include being disciplined, responsible, practical, patient, hardworking, organized and being a leader. The lower expression could involve being overly critical, conventional or status-seeking.
But first something you need to know:
This is the first of two (2) back-to-back Full Moons in Capricorn, with the first happening 21 June, 2024 at 1° Capricorn and the other happening exactly 30 days later on 21 July, 2024 there is another Full Moon at 29° of Capricorn. These degrees are what’s know as “critical degrees” - with the first at 0°-1° often coinciding with major beginnings and the latter degrees of 29°-0° often occurring around the time of something ending. For interest, here are the facts on critical degrees, as they are:
0, 13, 26 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn (Cardinal Signs)
8-9, 21-22 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius (Fixed Signs)
4, 17 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces (Mutable Signs)
You must have a planet in one these signs and at the SAME number in order for this to apply. It doesn't matter what planet really, only that it is in the same sign at the same number. BUT...if you have the same planet in the same sign AND at the same degree....this is a CONJUNCTION...and this is a DEFINITE CHANGE of some kind. In addition, and this is a big one....look for ANY planet in the same sign at 29 degrees (but conjunction rules REALLY APPLY HERE).
29°(of any sign) is known as the Anaretic or"Fated Degree" and what is so very important about this - 29°is at the end of the sign - gearing up for a change into a new sign. Change is inevitable, and you may feel that you have to do something and you have to do it right now especially when you have a transit passing over it at 29 degrees.
Capricorn is a cardinal sign which means action is often taken. Therefore, this could mean that these two Capricorn Full Moons coincide with either:
(a) one short-term project beginning and ending within approximately 4 weeks or
b) one long-term project beginning around 21 June and a different project ending around 21 July. Capricorn tends to move slowly and carefully, so the latter long-range option may be more likely.
Next we should talk about something called the Aries Point and without getting too technical - this is basically when planets are located at 0° of one of the cardinal signs (i.e. Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). Because all cardinal signs are about taking action, when a planet crosses the Aries point - the qualities of that planet and sign are pushed into public view for everyone to see. I mention this because two days ago, Monday, 17 June - both Mercury and Venus moved into the cardinal sign of Cancer (0°); then the Sun moves to 0°Cancer just one day before the Full Moon (i.e. Thursday 20 June). Because they are so powerful, Aries Points tend to impact us for more than just the exact day that a planet crosses 0°. This will be a 3-planet event, and will likely affect us from 16 - 23 June - all coinciding with the Summer Solstice!
How this plays out in each of ours lives individually and within society can vary greatly, but it’s safe to say that this could be a highly emotional and intuitive time. Relationships of all kinds become important, but also anything we may feel passionate about. We may become increasingly focused on making sure our loved ones and ourselves are safe and secure.
But remember - that Aries Point is a time of high public visibility - and if something has been hidden from view, now is the time when it is most likely to emerge from the shadows (i.e. the Justin Timberlake incident). Information may be shared or disclosed that might normally be kept private, although certain issues will be almost impossible to conceal, we can deal with any disclosures by expressing the higher qualities of Cancer - kindness, sympathy, empathy.
As with all Full Moons, our goal is to find a balance between what seems to be opposites. With this Full Moon, we may find ourselves (or others) vacillating between our head (Sun in Capricorn) and our heart (3 planets in watery Cancer). This could leave us feeling stuck unless we can tap into both ends of the continuum. Capricorn can provide us with patience and wisdom while we sort through our feelings or intuitive hunches. Or we can use Capricorn’s objectivity and penchant for organization while still making sure our emotions and needs are acknowledged in any decisions that we make.
One final note: the Sun and Moon will be square (90°) to Neptune. This can increase our ability to be compassionate, intuitive and creative however, some of us need to be extra-vigilant right now because this same aspect could cause is to engage in co-dependent, people-pleasing or rescuing behaviors - play the victim role or get pulled into a situation where our boundaries are not being respected. For those who are HSPs - sensitive to energies (i.e., empaths, clairsentients, etc.) this is a good time to actively protect and cleanse our energy systems or auras so we don’t absorb or hold onto someone else’s emotions and/or physical issues.
If a final decision about a new beginning isn’t made around the Capricorn Full Moon, there may be another chance to do so in the last week of June. Wednesday 26 June, Mercury will trine Saturn and our minds should be clearer and more objective than usual. It will be the perfect opportunity to make sound decisions even in complex situations. However, this window of opportunity for decision making won’t stay open long because on Saturday 29 June, Saturn enters its annual retrograde period - through to 15 November.
The first of two back-to-back Capricorn Full Moons is likely to coincide with some type of new beginning and of course, the strong Cancer vibe may convince you to “hide out” in order to be safe and secure and the Aries Point energy could make it that much more difficult. Decision making is the BIG focus right now but if the idea of making a change brings up fear, here are two questions to ask yourself:
Are you feeling afraid because it is unsafe? OR
Is this simply uncomfortable because it is new?
If the former -then don’t act; but if the latter - it may be time to leave your comfort zone and take a step or two forward. You just may find that we can take care of ourselves even if we are feeling fearful.

Until next time. Be Good to Yourselves.

Just getting around to responding because I’ve been busy working on the July 2024 readings but I thank you wholeheartedly for the sentiments. Some days I struggle with feelings of being insuperior because of the stroke…so it’s words like these that give me the strength to continue. ❤️❤️
Dearest Tara, I always find your newsletters extremely interesting, and I always learn so much from them.
You certainly deliver there, a worthy piece of reflection and work to ponder on, and wanted you to know that it is much appreciated. May the stars be with you.
