It is 7:55pm CST as I write this on New Year’s Eve. To my friends Across The Pond - Happy New Year. Listening to “Do You Feel Like I Do” by Peter Frampton from his classic album Frampton Comes Alive released in the US 15 January 1976 and the early fireworks have begun - I say - 2025 and beyond will be like nothing we’ve ever experienced before. It is and will be an exciting time to be alive not only from an astrological standpoint but also just be in the present - and moving forward into the future.
The outer planets often have an impact on The Collective and any changes that happen at a societal level always find a way to “trickle down” to a personal level. The shifts that are to occur will likely have huge implications for us collectively and personally. I know that many of us can agree that rapid changes have already been happening - political, governmental, economics, territorial disputes/conflicts/wars, etc, but as we move into 2025, these changes will actually accelerate even faster and will rock both society and our personal worlds.
Many astrologers believe that 2025 could be one of the most pivotal, important time in the history of humanity. It is being described as “a new era” and a definite timeline shift. This is all because Uranus, Neptune and Pluto will be moving into new signs. Pluto finished his transition into Aquarius during November 2024. The outer planets are slow movers and only change signs every 7-20 years. Having all 3 of them change signs at the same time is basically unprecedented in human history.
Because the outer planets move so slowly, some of them are in retrograde for months at a time and their shift into a new sign often involve a 3-step process. For example, during 2025 Satur, Uranus and Neptune will all ingress into a new sign but then retrograde back into the old sign. By 2026, these 3 outer planets will all be fully in their new signs and there will. be. no. looking. back. This back and forth movement emphasizes that 2025 will be a year of transition.
The first time that a planet tentatively steps its toe into a new sign, you should pay attention to what happens because we are often given a sneak-peek at what might be coming. When the planet retrogrades back into an old sign is very important because it gives us a final opportunity to complete any unfinished business relating to that sign - before making its final entry into the new sign. What’s supposed to happen is that those lessons learned in the old sign are almost always a foundation upon which we will learn the lessons coming up in the new sign. Mastering the previous lessons support our future success.
Let’s talk about the personal level because many of us have already found that one or more previously important areas of our lives seem to be coming to an end and a new beginning may already be starting to emerge - like a phoenix from the ashes. I am sure that many of these changes feel chaotic, unsettling and maybe a bit scary, but if you remain flexible, trust the process, focus on what we want - as opposed to what we DON’T want or fear and avoid projecting our beliefs about what is right or wrong onto others - these changes will provide opportunities for growth and transformation. Spending time in spiritual reflection and taking care of our bodies will be of great benefit. Balance and moderation in all things will be key here.
The Nodes of the Moon
I will start with the Nodes of the Moon. The energy of the Nodes represent: North Node represents our greatest potential for growth and life lessons - it is what we are most likely to avoid when under stress. The South Node represents the gifts, talents and abilitites we have brought into this lifetime from past lifetimes. It is what we are most likely to revert/regress to when under stress.
Changing Signs:
You should be aware the the Nodes of the Moon are always in retrograde through the zodiac signs and change signs every 18 months. Right now the NN is in Aries and the SN is in Libra. 11 January 2025, the Nodes shift to Pisces/Virgo axis. The NN will move into Pisces and SN will move into Virgo. There they will remain on the Pisces/Virgo axis for 18 months.
The Significance:
We may experience a subtle feeling of a new season unfolding in our lives. Having the Nodes shift into the Virgo/Pisces axis may bring a beautiful change amidst the chaotic energy of this transformational year. Having NN in Pisces may mean new energy is available relating to compassion, creativity, imagination and spiritual healing. We may feel moved to bring the formless (Pisces) into form (Virgo) - another visual is we may have the desire to bring heart (Pisces) into practical manisfestation (Virgo). There can be the increased opportunity to connect with the Divine, which can enhance our understading and compassion of the “oneness of all things”. It can be a time of healing imbalances relating to mind/body/spirit, logic-intutition, analytical thinking versus imagination and details over the big picture. Both ends of this continuum are important and healing may be requried for one or both sides. But remember - healing is possible and we need to try and be willing to put in the work so that we can find a better, healthier balance.
The Planets
Mercury in 2025
The planet Mercury represents thinking, learning, logic and communication.
Changing Signs:
Mercury typically spends about 3 weeks in each sign - so it goes through all 12 signs in 2025. However, the sign that Mercury is in will color how we communicate. Also, remember that Mercury goes retrograde about 3 times in a year. By now, we all know what to expect during these retrograde transits - pay special attention to travel plans, backup any important files/documents - double-and-triple check ALL forms of communication because Mercury Rx is a time when we turn inward which can lead to snafus in what we think/say/write/text/email, etc. However retrograde transits are important because they allow us time to reflect, re-do, revise, review - any word that the prefix RE can be attached to.
The 3 retrograde transits are as follows:
15 March 2025 (stations retrograde) 9°Aries - 6 April 2025 (stations direct) 26°Pisces
18 July 2025 10 August 2025 in Leo (stations Rx 15°/stations direct 4°)
9 November 2025 (stations retrograde) 6°Sagittarius - 28 November 2025 (stations direct) 20°Scorpio
The Significance Of These Periods:
15 March-6 April - We may have issues relating to impulsive decisions, controlling our anger, making mistakes due to rushing (Aries) but we can re-evaluate recent choices/actions to make sure that they align with our current goals (Pisces).
18 July-10 August - We may experience conflicts in relationships especially if we are feeling disrespected and unfortunately, efforts to reach compromise may be very challenging during this time BUT this could be a time in which some important information about those in power comes to the surface.
9-28 November - Technology glitchs and travel challenges will be more likely during this retrograde transit (which will be BAD timing for Thanksgiving in the US) - so I will say again - double check/triple check your travel plans, bring blankets, pillows and snacks if flying - and bring your patience too! This could be a time when people are more likely to speak without thinking (Sagittarius). Remember to as flexible and patient as possible and remind yourself to think before speaking. And a tip: it may help to have backup plans for any major events.
Venus in 2025.
The planet Venus represents what we desire/want/love, values, artistic expression, creativity, beauty, sensuality, finances, relationships/partnerships.
Changing Signs:
Venus typically moves through most of the signs during each year but every 18 monts she will retrograde - and this occurs during 2025. Venus will transit retrograde from 1 March-12 April 2025. During this time Venus begins in the sign of Aries and travels backwards into Pisces.
The Significance:
Venus only goes retrograde every 18 months, so this is usually a big deal and when she does, we are being aksed to spend time re-evaluating and reviewing all those topics mentioned above that represent Venusian matters (finances/values/desires, etc. Relationships from our past or even past life/karmic relationships may be on our mind or may even physically come into our lives. We will also be reveiwing important current relationships, creative endeavors and financial investments. Venus Rx is a time to make sure that we are going after what we really want rather than pursuing something that simply feels familiar or safe. We may have to adjust our actions to match new priorities and goals. While retrograde in Aries (1 March-27 March) we will likely be re-evaluating our self-worth, personal desires and how we assert ourselves. Once Venus backs up into Pisces (28 March-12 April) our introspection may deepen and we may become more focused on healing past wounds. We may also find ourselves reviewing our desires related to giving and receiving compassion, where forgiveness might be needed and/or how to use our intuition more effectively - or trust it.
Mars in 2025
The planet Mars represents energy, action, courage, aggression, assertiveness, sexuality and impulsivity.
Changing Signs:
Mars spends about 6 weeks in each sign and will travel through about 8 zodiac signs each year and if you think Venus Rx is a big deal - Mars is a bigger deal because he retrogrades every 2 years. This will typically have a major impact on our lives. Mars begins 2025 in retrgrade, which began on 6 December 2024 and will turn direct 23 February. He will be in the sign of Leo until 6 Janaury 2025 at which time he will backtrack into Cancer.
The Significance:
When Mars is retrograde, we may be internally reflecting on where we want (or not want) to put our energy as we move forward once Mars begins direct movement, 23 February. Even after the retrograde transit ends, The God of War planet will continue to play a major role through mid-2025. This will partly be due to the on-going series of the Mars-Pluto oppositions. When taking all these factors together, the first few months of 2025 will see something major in our life needing to be revamped and transformed in order to reflect who we have become - some serious contemplation and deep healing maybe required. We may need to re-evaluate our motivations and the relationships between our use of personal power vs force. This may require reflecting back on past relationships, goals/accomplishments in order to determine what worked and what didn’t work. While experiencing the Mars retrograde phase, we may encounter some obstacles but once Mars turns direct (23 February), it should become easier to take action(s) toward any new goals and/or initiatives while Mars was Rx. However, if we continue to try and reach for goals that have outlived their purpose, those obstacles will likely to continue in 2025.
Jupiter in 2025
The planet Jupiter represents growth, good fortune, travel, expansion, wisdom, religion, higher education and possibly going to excess.
Changing Signs:
It takes Jupiter about 12 years to go through the 12 signs, staying in one sign an average of one year. Jupiter starts the year in Gemini, having moved there 26 May 2024. He will then transition into Cancer 9 June 2025 and will remain in Cancer until 30 June 2026. Jupiter’s 4-month annual retrograde will begin 11 November 2025 through 10 March 2026. He will not change signs - remaining in Cancer the entire transit.
The Significance:
When Jupiter completes his transit of Gemini, 9 June 2025 - we may continue to feel like a lot of things (especially our thoughts and communication) are moving very quickly making information overload a very real possibility. Curiosity can be heightened - especially around topics related to faith, philosophy, ethics and beliefs. We may wish to expand our minds by learning new information. Being with others can be very enjoyable. When Jupiter shifts into Cancer (9 June), he will breathe a big sigh of contentment because he is comfortable in this sign. We may likely feel an increased sense of harmony and happiness - particularly when we are in our home and/or with those we care about. This can be a great time to develop deeper connections and (more) meaningful relationships, as long as they promote our personal well-being, self-care and emotional growth. Another important goal will be to expand our intuitive abilities. We also need to be mindful of not going too far in taking care of others (co-dependency) and be mindful of becoming overly focused on seeking emotional safety and security.
The Retrograde - during this transit through Cancer (12 November-10 March 2026), we may do a deep-dive into our emotions - including exploring past and present family dynamics, so ancestral healing could be a profitable avenue of exploration. We may be more of a home-body than usual, preferring to spend time alone or with those who help us feel a sense of personal safety and security. Someone from our past may show up in our life to complete a healing process. Definitely we may be reassessing our goals related to family, relationships and what we may need for our emotional well-being.
Saturn in 2025
The planet Saturn represents structure, order, responsibilities, control, discipline, leadership and life lessons.
Changing Signs:
Saturn typically travels through each sign for about 2.5 years and in March 2023, he entered Pisces where has remained until now and will continue to stay. He will station retrograde at 1° Aries 13 July 2026 retrograding back through Pisces where he will station 29°Pisces. He will then stay in the sign of Pisces until 15 February 2026 where he finally ingresses 0° Aries and remain there until mid-April 2028.
The Significance:
Saturn is not comfortable in watery Pisces - where Saturn wants boundaries and limits, Pisces wants no limits and permeable boundaries. During the first half and latter part of 2025, we are being given a chance to finish up work related to the Saturn transit through Pisces. This can be learning how to trust your intuition, learning to be patient, learning to trust in the process and/or learning to create a spiritual routine that feeds our soul. Some examples can include: prayer, breath-work, meditation or using tools like tarot cards and runes. During this time, hopefully - we have learned that strength can be found through simplicity, being quiet and listening and by letting go of any limiting beliefs. These last months in Pisces is an important time of wrapping up any unfinished business because once Saturn moves into Aries we are all in for a BIG CHANGE. It will become vitally important that we have learned to carry over the lessons learned while Saturn was in Pisces in order to successfully navigate Saturn in Aries. This will be a time where our focus will shift from our inner world to the outer world. We may feel ready to take on new responsibilities, create new structures and build new solid foundations in our lives. Saturn however, can bring challenges and obstacles - these may relate to discipline, responsibility, leadership and/or finding a healthy view of our accomplishments and ambitions.
The Retrograde:
While Saturn is in retrograde (13 July 2025 - 27 November 2025), we may feel a need to re-evaluate our life path or goals which may include things like reviewing past choices relating to responsibility, setting boundaries, our career, control and discipline. Unfinished projects will call for completion, as well as reassessing any part of your life that isn’t providing a stable foundation for long-term growth and daily routines, for example. We may also have to deal with past issues or unresolved conflicts. Significant healing and growth are possible - particularly after Saturn returns to Pisces on 1 September.
Uranus in 2025
The planet Uranus represents sudden/unexpected changes, innovation, originality, rebelliousness and humanitarianism.
Changing Signs:
In the early part of 2025, Uranus will be located in the final few degrees of Taurus. This was a 7-year transit through Taurus which began in 2018, but 7 July 2025, Uranus will enter 0° Gemini. During the annual retrograde transit, Uranus will move back into Taurus on 8 November 2025 and remain there until 26 April 2026 when he stations 0° Gemini to stay for 7-years (until 2033)>
The Significance:
While transiting through Taurus, he has been shaking up our personal and collective finances, values, physical property/possessions and even our bodies. The yeas 2018-2025, straddles the pandemic - which was a collective event that has clearly impacted many areas of our lives. The lessons which we have learned encompass how to take better care of our bodies and also to take a more conservative approach to our financial investments - which hopefully has led to some steady growth. But once Uranus steps his toe tentatively into Gemini, 7 July, the change of sign (read energy) may feel pretty extreme due to differences between Taurus and Gemini. Uranus is ALL about change. Taurus is a very grounded sign that prefers to move slowly and carefully. This has slowed the impact of Uranus for the past 7 years. But that is all about to change when Uranus enters Gemini - the proverbial foot comes off the brakes and hits the accelerator. Gemini is a mutable air sign - that loves variety and change, so Uranus will enjoy the ride. Ingenious ideas may rapidly - and dramatically - revolutionize fields such as communications, education, transportation and space exploration/travel. There will also be changes to the technologies that support these areas.
The Retrograde:
While in retrograde - 6 September-3 February 2026, Uranus may likely make us spend time in reflecting back on our need for freedom and independence. We are being encouraged to explore new ideas that could result in how we communicate and the types of folks/groups that we want to associate with. Because we may feel a strong need to be authentic, the changes we experience now could involve letting go of relationships that are no longer aligned with our new ways of thinking. We may be more open than usual to exploring new ideas/approaches, which could lead to taking classes or a new course of study. We do need to be mindful to not be too impulsive in our choices.
Neptune in 2025
The planet Neptune represents spirituality, creativity, compassion, intuition, the ability to move out of fear and into faith and possibly a lack of clarity.
Changing Signs:
Neptune has spent 14 years in its home sign of Pisces. On 3 March 2025, he will ingress 0° Aries. During Neptune’s annual retrograde transit, he will move back into Pisces 23 October 2025. He will remain in Pisces until 27 January 2026 where he will finally settle into Aries for a 13-year stay (until 2039).
The Significance:
Believe it or not, Neptune has been in Pisces since 2011 - the natural ruler of Pisces, so it has been an extra powerful transit. During the first few months and the last few months of 2025 (when Neptune is in Pisces for the final time), we need to make sure to review the lessons we have been asked to learn - which may include improving our ability to ground ourselves, exploring our spirituality and intuitive abilities and expanding our capacity for compassion and non-judgment. The GOAL is to increase our understanding that we are all One. This shift from Pisces to Aries will be big - and let’s go ahead and be thankful that we are being given a “trial run” into 2025 before the BIG shift happens in 2026. The expression “Spiritual Warrior” comes to mind with Neptune in Aries. This can be a time of spiritual awakening, idealism, courage and a desire for personal transformation. It is worth MENTIONING that this an be a time when new spiritual leaders step forward or new spiritual/religious groups come into existence however, it will become important to make sure we use DISCERNMENT in order to ensure that these charismatic leaders/groups are coming from a place of Light and not ego nor control.
The Retrograde:
Neptune’s annual retrograde transit begins (4 July-9 December 2025), the proverbial Neptunian fog lifts - or at least the fog thins - but we may be better able to see where we have been deceived by others OR where we have been deceiving ourselves. This can often mean facing (a) harsh reality/realities in some area of our lives. We may be doing some inner searching related to our spiritual beliefs or how we can better align our values and beliefs with our relationships/activities - especially after Neptune re-enters Pisces 23 October 2025. This may be an unsettling time because we may very well have to face some hard truths but this allows new truths to emerge that can lead to new life paths. Our intuition can be heightened whenever Neptune is retrograde - so we should use our strengthened connection to the Divine to help guide us.
Pluto in 2025
The planet Pluto represents transformation, understanding the difference between the use of power vs the use of force/control/manipulation, destruction that leads to rebirth (Phoenix rising from the ashes is the visual) and deep healing.
Changing Signs:
It takes Pluto 288 years to make a complete tour of the zodiac, and as of November 2024 Pluto finished his transition out of Capricorn and into Aquarius. He will remain in Aquarius for the next 20 years (until 2044). Pluto’s annual retrograde transit begins 4 May-30 October 2025.
The Significance
The shift of Pluto from Capricorn to Aquarius has been - and will continue to feel - huge because these signs are very different. Capricorn focuses on the past, slow growth, predictability, stability and controlling what can be experienced through our 5 senses. Aquarius is the antithesis of this. It is about the future, unlimited possibilities, doing the unexpected and trusting what can’t be perceived through the 5 senses. All the structures that began to crumble while Pluto was in Capricorn will continue to shift and transform - like the Phoenix, they will rise from the ashes and become transformed. Pluto traveling through Aquarius means that transformation will be accelerated and the norm. Just when we feel the waves of change slow a bit, a new development will likely knock us off our feet again. Historically, Pluto’s transit through Aquarius often correlates to societal and governmental changes (like shifting control to the people and away from “top-down/centralized government). Aquarius is also associated with technology. The intersection between technology, transportation and health/medicine will definitely be in the news a lot. All of the outer planets - Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - have always had a profound impact on society in general. Remember that I mentioned at the beginning of this article, that anything occurring at a societal level will eventually trickle down to the individual. As discoveries are made in technology, we will all need to personally adjust to accommodate these changes. Perhaps we will be the beneficiary of a new discovery related to the use of technology to treat a medical condition. One thing is certain - outdated traditions, practices, institutions and even leadership styles will experience radical, unexpected and sometimes unpredictable alterations. We are in the process of shaping a brand new and largely unknown future. Breakthroughs will likely occur in the midst of what appears on the surface - to be utter chaos. This might be a mighty huge ask but…We will need to trust that something new and powerful will rise from the ashes… and it will. It will just take time.
The Retrograde:
Pluto will station retrograde at 3° Aquarius on 4 May 2025. He does NOT ever go back into Capricorn but because his orbit is wonky, he will be retrograde in Aquarius until 13 October 2025 (just know that he will be going direct and retrograding throughout his 20 year transit). During this time we may be reflecting on what we desire and revisiting recent choices that we have made. We may even feel driven to explore the differences between the use of personal power as opposed to control and manipulation, or force. This is often the time of year when we let go of anything/anyone that has outlived its/their purpose and what has been hidden will be revealed in order for transformation and healing to occur - and this includes information in our subconscious or something external that has been hidden from us by an individual or group.
Overall, this will be a timeline shift - where everything can feel like it is happening too fast but just remember to trust the process.
Until next time, Be Good to Yourselves.
Tara, xx

Thank you for your energy put into this invaluable read! We are all feeling this huge shift and uncertainty - no wonder! Love the buckle-up comment - yep.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into the article. It is very helpful!
I was actually more ready for Valhalla than for a bumpy road. 🤪But hek, all we can do is buckle up and move forward with full courage. Stay safe and have courage too, Tara!
