Good morning Travelers.
First, I’d like thank all of you who have signed up for my newsletter. I am completely surprised and humbled by the numbers.
Secondly, I’d like to apologize for the lateness of this week’s newsletter - yes, it is late, but as you will soon see, it is also timely.
This week’s card is The Moon. Major Arcana 18.
Using the numerology, this breaks down to 9. Nine is the number of the Hermit and also a number of completion. In numerology, life operates on a repeating nine-year cycle. Nine can also be viewed as a number of gestation - waiting for something to bear fruit or come into creation. Nine is the number of 3 times itself so also relates to the Trinity of the “Threefold”.
On Friday, 19 November, we will have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Taurus. This also means that this lunar eclipse will be opposing the sign of Scorpio. *Additionally*, this eclipse will one of the longest in duration in over a century. It is projected to last almost 4 hours. If you’re a fan of Jessica Adams, then you should already know that eclipses hide things.
Intuitively, this eclipse has been giving me the heebee jeebies. I’ve nothing factual to base this on, just a distinct, intuitive undercurrent of it preceding something pretty important as it will be visible in all 50 States of the US. I am also not able to shake the feeling that this eclipse is a precursor to when the nodes will be changing signs - from North Node in Gemini/South Node Sagittarius at present - to North Node Taurus/South Node Scorpio, 18 January 2022.
The heebee jeebies come from remembering what happened to America after the Great American Eclipse 21 August 2017 (which by the way - there will be another American Eclipse in 2024).
Having The Moon present itself in today’s card of the week is significant. When cards present themselves like this, it really is the Universe speaking to us directly. Here is the imagery of this card:
We can clearly see a dog, a wolf and crustacean climbing out of a pool of water. These figures are all facing a path centered between two pillars/towers and The Moon raining down Yods. Far off in the distance are mountains.
The Moon is one of the “dark” cards in the deck - meaning, the colors are mostly dark - giving the card a rather mysterious quality and mayhap, even a slight sinister feel.
But what do we really know about the moon itself? We know that it is the fastest moving planetary body in the sky - changing signs every 2.4 days. But we also know that it is on a cycle of 28 days - new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing Gibbous, Full moon, waning Gibbous, last quarter and finally waning crescent.
Given the moon’s phases or cycles, we can attribute a few of the following keywords to this card: fluctuation, emotions (the moon rules water), intuition, illusion, strange passions, irrational fears, dreams/daydreams, fantasies and psychic abilities.
The divinatory meaning of this card are fluctuations; uncertainty, confusion and a time of passivity instead of action. If it refers to a person, then its meaning is indicative of a reserved, instinctual person of a cool nature.
In ancient times, people believed that the Moon contained the souls of the unborn as they waited to be born, and that the dead were gathered up to it’s womb to wait for rebirth. This is how the Moon came to be known as “The Great Mother”, from which all life springs and to whom life returns.
The is associated with women, children, childbirth and menstruation (that 28 day cycle) and through its phases it can represent the world of illusions, dreams and the subconscious.
This card can be very ambivalent when it appears in a reading as the imagery signifies the difficulty in seeing things clearly. The dog and wolf represent the domestic and wild sides of our nature; the crustacean - those things kept deep and hard within us…things like old fears, failure and despair.
The moon is depicted with a “feminine face” thereby associating it with the old belief that women were deception and oftentimes delusional.
The two buildings or towers on either side of the path represent “man’s protection from the environment”. Indeed, having shelter protects us not only from the environment, but also provides us psychological protection from the fears of the outside world.
Appearing in a reading in its positive (upright) aspect, The Moon asks:
The you use and rely upon your intuition and inner wisdom. Do not allow yourself to be deceived by apparent security because all may not be as it appears.
In regards to others, if you have any concerns, let them know how you feel and where you stand.
Take note of any dreams or intiutive messages that come your way as the answer always lies within you.
There will come a time when it will be necessary for you to face up to a situation and accept it for what it is in order to make any changes.
You or others are living in a fantasy world so face reality as there will be less chance of deception when you do.
Indicates being true to yourself, your emotions, your intuition and your own knowledge.
Can be an indication of constantly changing emotions or a hormonal imbalance.
Earth and the Universal cycles should provide you inspiration and great pleasure. Try to live a more balanced, holistic approach to life.
Appearing in its negative (reversed aspect) The Moon:
Can indicate negative attitudes, morbid fantasizing and feelings of utter despair. If so, confide in friend or seek professional help.
May be an indication of negative occult forces at work in your life.
Can indicate mental disorders, nervous disorders, phobias and fears.
If you find yourself in a difficult situation, try not to allow your imagination run away with you.
Do not take any risks at this time as there is the possibility for misunderstandings and arguments. Say what you mean and do not waste energies in disagreements with others.
If you are finding oppositi-on from others, hold firm to your views and do not be afraid to see things as they are and say it as it is.
Pay attention to any intuitive feelings or “inner voices” as these can be warning you of possible threats and danger.
Remain calm and patient -things will turn out your way and it is imperative that you maintain complete control of your emotions.
At this present writing, we are all facing supply chain issues, shortages, rising prices, the holiday season and of course, Corona Virus is still around. Many of us are uncertain as to what will or will not happen next. I have had many people write me to share their fears and concerns over family members, children, career, finances, loneliness and isolation. These fears are what The Moon can bring up even more strongly, so I don’t want what I wrote about my own heebee jeebies about this upcoming full moon to frighten you. I am NOT in the business of fear-mongering. What I am feeling is simply something intuitive - I am a psychic and medium so swim in the undercurrents and depths of energy every day.
What I can offer you is this: as we move into the holiday season with things costing more and not enough of anything available; as prices rise on essential items - food, heating oil, gasoline for our cars and those family members who always seem to throw a wet blanket over our holiday celebrations - Remember that dread and fear are real possibilities with the Moon, so keep yourself grounded. Stand in your place in the Universe and fill that space with the essence of who you are.
Until next time Travelers…
Be good to yourselves.
