This is an election year and probably the most consequential election of my lifetime.
Our candidates/nominees appear to be: Nikki Haley, Republican South Carolina; Joseph R. Biden, Democrat, Former Senator New Jersey and Donald J. Trump, New York - Democrat.
That’s right 45 is a registered Democrat…well - allow me to try ‘splain - he was a registered Republican in 1987, then an Independent in 1999. 2009 he was a registered Democrat, then he switched back to Independent again in 2011, now he’s a Republican - since 2012 ( and I dispute that because in the 2020 election he was still registered as Democrat in New York) - but that’s a total of 5 political party changes.
Now let’s focus on the card. Looking at it, you can see that the figure is standing on a small hill with a wand his hand - battling lots of other wands coming up towards him. This card I call the “you’re in a better position than you realize”. In reality, what this means for the nominees, is that they still have enough energy for the fight - although for Nikki Haley, she’ll need to fight much harder than anybody. I feel she doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of catching up to 45 - he’s done no debates and truth is - he doesn’t need to. People know what they’re getting by voting for him, plus they LOVE him…LOVE. HIM.
No matter that he has 90+ court cases and several judgments against him already in place - he is adored and idolized. It’s why after all is said and done - he’ll be the Republican nominee. No matter that he’s a bonafide liar - and it can be proved. The people in the Cult of 45 would drink his dirty bath water if needed.
When it comes to the South Carolina primary - there she will be trounced too. The state is predominantly Black, and she has never held any positions favorable to the Black population. But, that’s where Joe Biden won the last time with the help of Representative Jim Clyburn - he helped Biden win the state. I daresay, Jim & Joe won’t be able to replicate a victory this time because most people - Black folks especially - feel that Biden didn’t uphold all the promises he made them - just having Kamala Harris on the ticket wasn’t enough. Additionally, Joe Biden is not a hugely popular President. Despite forgiving student loans, handling what was supposed to be the end of Covid; promising the young he would take care of climate issues and saying he would he “fix” the 1960 Voting Rights Act and Roe v Wade - he’s done NONE of that. Never mind adding jobs to the economy and increasing the GDP - people just don’t view him too favorably.
The citizens of the great State of South Carolina WILL. NOT. VOTE. FOR. NIKKI. HALEY. Even Senator Tim Scott, whom she nominated when she was governor, endorsed 45. What does that say to you? It says that there will be TWO.
And it will be a battle for both presumptive nominees to reach the numbers they need.
What if 45 is added back to the ballets of Colorado and Maine? Joe Biden was a write-in candidate at the New Hampshire Democratic primary - where he won, but it is a state comprised of mostly Independent voters. Recently I’ve been watching various news reports and was quite struck by the number of people who said they would either still vote for 45 or that if Nikki Haley drops out - would choose 45 and this makes me very suspect that there are more folks out there that feel the same way but are not voicing it. I still stand by my prediction from 2022 - that we will be living under authoritarian rule for about 2 years. I fear that folks don’t take the rhetoric of 45 seriously - they under estimate the lengths that he will go to - and this is how he became the 45th President the first. People thought it/he was a joke; didn’t believe he was serious and then they FAFO’d. I believe him. Very much so and feel the depths of the lengths he go to.
I do know this: when Nikki Haley is tossed out of the race - and she will be, despite the Koch Brother’s multi-million dollars contribution - there’s no one left to carry the “republican” banner. And the person carrying the “democratic” has almost worn out his welcome.
The upcoming battle will be like two grandfathers going at in the backyard of your family reunion get together. That’s not a very comforting thought or visual.
Until Next Time…Be Good To Yourselves.
Tara, xx
I am laughing at your last description of the two political candidates duking it out to be president. Ha ha. I will go with Jessica Adams prediction that neither male candidates will win and that a female will win. I would like Liz Cheney to win, I think she would be able to handle the mess that is left behind and get us ready for the Aquarian age.
Hi Tara,
I am not American and am ignorant to the rules around this, but what happens if the standing president doesn’t make it to the elections or if as you call him 45 doesn’t make it.
The coming couple of months make me nervous, I have my reasons but won’t publicly air them on an app I’m still learning to navigate.
