Hey there Travelers.
Your card of the week for 8 -14 November is the 10 of Wands.
Look at the imagery on this card. What does it say to you? Perusing the imagery on a card gives clues as to what you may be feeling or thinking. That poor guy on the card is just trying to put one foot in front of the other and keep it moving. Looks as though he’s struggling too, right? But is he really? And if so, why?
Those 10 wands he’s hefting in front of his face means that he’s got a lot on his plate and when you pull this card, it could be a sign that you too have a lot on your plate, many irons in the fire.
Traditionally, the Wands suit is associated with work and career, but as many of you know if you visit my Youtube Channel or are members of my website - the wands for me translate into desire, focus, energy and determination. Sometimes, they will even show up as eyes - looking ahead or looking forward. The wands come along to ask you: what is it that you truly desire and what are you willing to do to achieve it? Passion that’s what the wands are really all about.
Mars moved into one of his ruling signs, Scorpio on 30 November where he was followed by the Scorpio New Moon. Mars rules both Aries and is the ancient ruler of Scorpio, so when he visits these signs, he operates at a much higher level. And while Mars in Aries may have a “get-it-done”, push energy to it, Mars in Scorpio can activate deep passions and desires. And while passions and desires sound lovely, watch out - Mars is the God of War and can quickly turn into the take-no-prisoners, scorched earth, raze-it-all-to-the-ground guy.
What does this have to do with the 10 of Wands? Well, the 10 speaks to a completion of events. And those 10 wands - they can speak to taking on more than you can handle or cope with.
We’ve all been under some very stressful times. Lockdowns, outbreaks, mandates, restricted travel, fear of other people, isolation, supply chain issues for almost two years now. Maybe some of you have had to take on extra duties and responsibilities - your partners/spouse lost a job or you’ve had to work at home *and* take care of the kids simultaneouly. May be you’ve had to run extra errands for elderly parents or relatives or may be you’ve just felt that it’s all too much.
The 10 of Wands comes to tell you that you are near the end of your journey. It says that whatever you’ve been dealing with - that you’ve found burdensome, oppressive and difficult will finally be coming to end. But don’t rejoice just yet - depending on where you are in the cycle, it may start all over again. And if this occurs, you’ll need to remember your limitations during the first cycle. And RESPECT THEM.
The 10 of Wands says that changes will be coming and you should start to re-assess your plans and options. In other words, it you might have to “go through it again”, you’ll really want to have a better plan of action going forward. If you tried to do it all singlehandedly, then you need to learn to delegate. If you’ve been doing okay to well financially, but you’re still feeling all of out of sorts - prioritize what’s important to get back on track spiritually and emotionally. If you’ve been worried and stress, stop what you are doing and recognize your own limits - there’s no shame it it.
We all have our own responsibilities, committments and demands, but we also have our own talents and skills. Don’t allow the passion and desires to cause you to raze your own self to the ground. When we take on too much or don’t know how to ask for help, it leaves us depressed, tired and even angry. When we allow others too much access to ourselves, it leaves little time for ourselves. When we focus on too many things at once, we diffuse our energy and we can’t focus properly on even one thing.
And if you really are doing it “all by yourself”, be patient and give yourself time. Prioritize what is most important and put the other things to the side for later.
No matter your situation, this card says that changes are coming. Take a moment before moving forward and do a self check-in.
Look at the guy in the card again - if he would only just divide that bundle of wands in two, he’ll have a much better view of not only how far he has to go, but also how far he’s come.
Until next time.
Be good to yourselves.
