Welcome to February 2023. With only one more day left in the first month of 2023, we arrive almost to the midway point of the Spring Equinox.
The card that will be assisting us for the start of February is the Page of Swords.
Astrology: Aquarius
Element: Air
Relates to people born: 20th - 28th February
Timing: Two Weeks
This court card is number 11 in the suit of Swords. Although most people do not ascribe a number to the court cards, I like to because it can give additional information. All pages are 11s, Knights are 12s, Queens are 13s and Kings are 14s.
A few keywords for this page, upright are: alert, mental powers, negotiations, intellectual development, examination, study, detachment, diplomacy, deceit, postponements, cancellations, pressure and strife.
This card is always associated with news, information and messages.
As a person the card is traditionally viewed as a young boy/girl who has messages for you. This can be any young person who is very aware - despite their youth - of the injustices of the world and life’s limitations. Think Greta Thunberg.
The personality skillset is one who is intelligent, compassionate, thoughtful and capable. The person can be security-minded, a bit possesive but is thorough about things and can sometimes be cautious and distrustful.
Generally, the Page of Swords should be viewed as a “messenger” who carries ideas, concepts and thoughts.
Appearing upright in a reading:
Can be an indication that a new phase is about to bein in which your logical, rational mind must be developed and used postively. If you look closely at this card, you find 10 birds high in the sky over this Page’s head. Think of those as 10 ideas, 10 messages or the continuation of such ideas or messages.
This card can sometimes indicate that there is a focus on perception and that you may be involved in a secretive situation that will require skills of observation and subtlety.
The Page of Swords can be an indication that some news or information will arrive that you may view as disappointing, such as a possible delay or postponement.
This page may warn of a deceitful person or situation where you may feel deflated and defeated due to another’s efforts, or lack of effort. He may also imply a need for tact or diplomacy and/or keeping information to yourself for the time being.
Appearing reversed in a reading, a few keywords are: underhanded deeds, deviousness and callousness.
Appearing reversed, it warns to be prepared for the unexpected however, the change in circumstance - while appearing daunting or negative at first - eventually turns out to be of a beneficial nature.
Reversed, this page can signal spiteful gossip, backstabbing, mistruths being told and rumors being spread. Remain detached and do not participate in this negative behavior.
Page of Swords reversed can sometimes indicate an indivdual who is obstinate and very headstrong at times. This person will need a lot of personal freedom in their life.
The Page of Swords reversed cautions to beware a very cunning, manipulative, devious person with a blatant disregard for others’ feelings. This person may try to use your or a situation to their advantage.
Special Note: Whether this Page presents upright or reversed - clear thinking and caution are always advised - particularly in relation to proposals and/or offers.
Appearing with many other court cards is an indication that many people are involved; with may other swords cards is an indication or pressures, tensions, stress and concerns.
Finally, for a real-world timing prediction, the energy of this page extends from 1 to 10 days out to two weeks.
Decans timing:
1st Decan of Aquarius: 21 - 29 January
2nd Decan of Aquarius: 30 January - 8 February
Wow, this card really relates to me at this moment! Born on Feb. 20th and waiting for an important message in the next few days. Message that will have a big influence on the next few months.
Thanks Tara!
Hi Yolanda, and thanks.
But a large part of reading tarot energy is tapping into your own intuition, meaning - you might have different interpretation than mine. This is to say, that your interpretation is not incorrect - just different.
This is why I always suggest keeping a tarot journal as you go along. Once you've been reading long enough, you'll eventually notice "patterns" that may come up with the cards - allowing for different interpretations.
This happens quite frequently.
