New Moons always provide us with an opportunity to plant new seeds and have a fresh new emotional start in the area that is associated with the sign.
This new moon, we will be focusing on the sign of Taurus. The bull is the symbol associated with Taurus and this represents the sign's slow, steady perseverance and determination.
WHO THE BULL IS:
What do we know about bulls? We know that bulls prefer to remain in their own pastures. This gives them a sense of peace, calm and safety - familiar territory and all. But we also know that if provoked, the bull's temper can cause a lot of damage - think "bull in a china shop". So for Taureans, introducing change too quickly (and I would add the other earth signs to this as well) - can provoke this type of angry reaction.
Patience is key with Taurean energy. And if you know a Taurus you need to keep in mind that change won't happen overnight. Only when the Bull is content that all conditions are right will it move - albeit, very slowly. Given this inherent determination, the bull will eventually get to where it wants to go, but it has to WANT to get there. It can't be forced or cajoled. It has to move at it's own pace.
Given this, you can look at the higher expression of Taurus as being down-to-earth, responsible, resourceful, reliable, patient and loyal. The lower expression is being overly materialistic, stubborn, resistant to change and cautious to an extreme.
THAT THING ABOUT ECLIPSES
This Taurus new moon is also a solar eclipse, and this magnifies the energy. Usually full solar eclipses are about new beginnings, but we are not able to see beyond into the future. This solar eclipse however, will be partial and this gives us a peek into the future, but we still are not able to see clearly. It's a bit blurry. So we should take a step back or take a deep breath before making any important decisions. The impact of eclipses can unfold 6 months out and sometimes even further.
ADD URANUS TO THE MIX...
This new moon solar eclipse will find both the moon and the sun conjunct with Uranus. This conjunction will be 6 degrees (Moon conjunct Uranus) and 4 degrees (Sun conjunct Uranus) and while typically a zero degree conjunction is what I use, Uranus is one of the large outer planets and therefore has a greater "pull of influence".
If you've read my article on the astrological aspects, then you should remember that the conjunction is the MOST powerful aspect in astrology. It's symbol in the chart looks like a bomb - so think explosive energy.
This conjunction including Uranus can mean that HSPs (highly sensitive people) may feel their nervous systems a bit overstimulated. However the Taurean energy gives us insight into to the best way to calm those energies - breathing, gardening, spending time in nature or simplifying our lives as this time - are great ways to counter the nervous energy. Getting "into our bodies" is what the earth sign of the bull means. This is a great practice because if we can find ways to calm the nervous energy, we can increase our chances of tapping into the positive potential of Uranus.
Uranus can bring upheaval, surprises and sudden insights that can lead to solutions to long-standing problems. And he likes to break with convention - so this could mean doing things a completely different way or considering options we would not normally consider.
GAIN A BIT MORE INSIGHT
I spoke about this in the Sun Taurus Card of the Year reading I conducted for Jessica Adams' website, so make sure you get over there at the beginning of May to see it. The words were "obedience and disobedience".
The changes represented by the presence of Uranus will mean that change will indeed be needed in how we relate to Taurus-themed topics: our bodies, possessions, our homes and our finances.
You can read more about the planetary alignments and energies in my upcoming article over on my site, as Mercury the Trickster will be putting in a performance between this eclipse and the following on on 15 May. Premium Members can will be able to access the full article.
Stay tuned.
Thank you, Tara, for the lesson on aspects, which I have just read and will doubtless reread countless times in the future. I am a Taurus, 4 degrees, where Saturn has been square me! As if that hasn’t been enough, Pluto in Capricorn is now opposite my natal Uranus and Diana at 28 and 29 degrees respectively. It’s showing up in a bullying, hazing situation I’m dealing with. Jupiter is about to go to 28 degrees Pisces which will put it sextile to Pluto and trine to Uranus and Diana. Right?! Will it help me with this?
And I want to mention that your daughter is beautiful. Something tells me that you feel the same way about her that I feel about my little two year old beauty asleep in the back bedroom, my granddaughter. They am sure grow up fast, don’t they?
Looking forward to the April card reading.
