Hello Everyone.
This post concerns the 2022 midterm elections for the Senate and House. Jessica Adams asked a very pertinent question the other day under my article on Roe v. Wade. And I told her I would take a look at it.
I first used the Rider-Waite deck and it gave me bunch of gobbledy-gook, so pulled out my “boyfriend”, Nostradamus.
Before I get into the article, I’d like to tell you, that Nostradamus is most definitely speaking of the midterm elections, but the manner in which he is telling it - let’s just say this: It is not a straight line.
Let’s start with 1862. Records start being kept on midterm elections in this year and these records reflect “historical patterns”. The historical pattern or trend reflects a 2- 4 year pattern, i.e. - a president is elected every four years, but senators and house representatives come up every two years - with some exceptions like special elections/special run offs. These midterm elections are called direct public midterm elections.
Historically what has happened since 1862 is that the incumbent president’s party loses seats in the house and senate. This is why it is known as a “referendum on the president and his policies.”
The very first time that a direct public midterm was introduced was during the presidencey of Woodrow Wilson. And this brings us to the year 1918.
1918 and The Spanish Flu
I chose 1918 because this was the year of the Spanish Flu - so like 1918, we are having a midterm election under the spectre of a pandemic. There was also an election back in 1914 (think 2016). And all things being equal….
The 1914 election, elected Woodrow Wilson, Democrat, President of the United States, with the first direct public midterms occuring in 1918 and the Democrats won control over both houses of Congress - the first time since the Civil War.
The 1914 elections ratified the 17th Amendment which meant that for the first time, state legistors would be elected by the public and not electors. In a nutshell - by popular vote. And the democrats won control by 3 seats.
2016 and the Election of Donald Trump
Donald Trump beat incumbent president Barack Obama, but also beat out Hillary Clinton who was thought to be a shoe-in. Additionally, both houses of Congress went to the Republican Party.
But the 2018 midterms was a “referendum” on Trump and the Democrats took control over the House (2 seat win) by winning Arizona and Nevada. The Republicans were able to hang on to their majority in the Senate and this was the first time since 1970, that the party of the president (Republicans) only made gains in one house and lost the other.
Now if I had to answer Jessica’s question: Would the Democrats win both houses or at least maintain control over one house? I would have to say that it really could be anyone’s guess. The old historical patterns are falling by the wayside and it is a brand new political landscape and I’ll revisit this question at the end of this article.
So I asked Nostradamus: What information could he impart upon us about the midterm elections? The answer stumped me, surprised me and shocked me.
My source for Nostradamus was written in 1685 by Theophilus de Garencieres and gifted to me by Jessica Adams.
The Draw
The first card I pulled: VIII of Moons
Century 10: Quatrian 80:
In the great Reign, of the great Reign Reigning,
By force of Arms the great Brass Gates
He shall cause to be open, the King being joined with the Duke,
Haven demolished, Ship sunk on a fair day.
Well, this made absolutely NO sense to me. So I ask for further information/clarification and pulled this card: VI of Spheres.
Century 3: Quatrain 24
From the undertaking, great confusion,
Lots of people and innumerable treasury
Thou ought not yet to tend that way
France endeavor to remember my saying.
These two cards perplexed me, so I started to do a bit of research. But also, the second card’s quatrain had a note saying “refer to the previous quatrian”.
Century 3: Quatrian 24
This is concerning the miseries which the French were to suffer in the island of Corsica, then the peace was concluded in the year 1559. Nostradamus directs his speech to the French fleet that went to Corsica in 1555.
He says in the first verse, If France goes beyond the Ligurian sea, that is if they go to Corsica, which is beyond the Ligurian sea towards Africa. They shall see themselves enclosed with Islands and sea - that is they will be constrained to keep within those two towns which are there, without going out either by land or sea, not by sea for want of ships, nor by land the garrisons being weak because
The King has then too much business that he could not suffice all.
Moreover Nostradamus adds that Mahomet shall be contrary, not that he was an enemy to France but because he was the Master of the Adriatic Sea so that the Venetians which were then friends to the French could not succor them.
And thus the news of the peach being broth, the friend did eat their horses and ass and there was never a peace so well come as to the French that were in Corsica.
Okay…walk with me here….I promise this is going somewhere.
These two cards and three quatrains all refer to the year 1555. This was the Invasion of Corsica. The “King and the Duke” were King Henry II and the Duke of Guise and the French allied with the Ottomans to help defeat
Out of this war came a treaty, “Peace of Cateau-Cambrésis”. Refered to in the last line of the third quatrain.
Well, this still made no sense to me until I went back and looked at the line “ship sunk on a fair day.” Then it came to me: the Ukrainians sink the Russian Battleship Moskva. Nostradamus is clearly giving me an analogy of the TIME. But he is also giving me a “line” by which I can follow back to 1914 and the 28th President, Woodrow Wilson, his election and the houses of Congress. Remember, the presidency and both houses were controlled by Democrats, but the next election cycle, the Republicans took back both houses.
Stay with me here…
World War I and The League of Nations.
The first world war started in July 28, 1914 and ended November 11, 1918 (bringing Wilson and Democrats to power). It started over the assassination of Grand Duke Ferdinand of Austria.
And it was with the start of the First World War, the first ideas for an international organization to prevent future wars began to gain considerable public support, particularly in Great Britain and the United States. Goldsworthy Lowes Dickinson, a British political scientist, coined the term "League of Nations" in 1914 and drafted a plan for its organization.
During the war, the following empires “fell”: Russian, German, Austro-Hungarian and the Ottomans - pretty much the same countries who were involved back in the Invasion of Corsica - save Russia who had been to war with the Ottoman empire. The Covenant of the League of Nations would lead to the Paris Peace Treaty. And by 1920, 48 countries joined the League.
*Keep in mind that all this was occuring during a midterm election leading up to a presidential election*
One republican congressman, Henry Cabot, led a battle against the treaty, with Wilson suffering a stroke 27 days after a tour of trying to sell the idea to the American people. Congress never ratified the treaty and refused to take part in the League of Nations.
WWII
When World War II started, the majority of nations maintained “neutrality” except for Germany and France (the two European countries “leading” the way now against Russia). In 1940, Denmark, Norway, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands and France all fell to Hitler. Switzerland being nervous, shut down all their League of Nations offices. These are some of the same countries that are now prevariating on Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
The League of Nations fell apart after World War II but was reborn in 1944 as the United Nations.
How 1914 Becomes 2022.
This sounds crazy. It sounds convoluted. But some of you thought I was off my rocker when I did my reading on the Republic of Congo back in August of last year. I told you then - to keep your ears open for hearing about this region in the news. Well, lately, this story has been surfacing as Russia is building 6 new bases there. And I believe that in the Congo reading, Nostradamus was dropping clues and hints.
**Note, if you go to the site to read the article on the Congo as referenced in the video, I got sidetracked and did not complete it. I still have my notes, and will finish it over the next coming days.
2022 becomes 1914 all over again because if the Republicans take back both houses, what we are looking at is the Rise of Autocracy and Tyranny. We will lose our Democracy. As I keep saying to any who will listen, abortion is NOT the issue. It is a distraction. Yet, the idea of making it illegal is the start of the tyranny. If this “right” falls, so too will all the other civil liberties that we’ve grown accomstomed to…interracial marriage, women’s rights, voting rights, racial equality, etc. Today, I heard on several news channels, that some states are already writing laws to outlaw contraception. And I said too, that this would mean even IVF will become inaccessible.
Make no mistake. The march of tyranny is knocking on our doors and this midterm election - the outcome - is what will stand in the way of either our very freedoms or living in a dystopian, autocratic society. But this is not just true for America. This is true for all democratic countries around the world.
So the short answer to Jessica’s question - thinking about it again - I feel that the Democrats will lose the house, the Republicans will take control over both. They have already redrawn the districting maps with no “oversight” and no challenges to the changes. And then it is only a matter of time until the next presidential election.
Elections have consequences.
This is worrisome. Whatever happens in the US reflects all over the world and I fear an immense setback on the many issues you mentioned, in all the countries that look up to the US. It is a sad state of affairs...
Do you feel this is set in stone or as circumstances change the outcomes could change too?
