Who Is Leonard Leo?

Probably, the most dangerous man you've never heard of.

1. The loosening of gun laws.

6. Texas Abortion Law (reminiscent of Dred Scott v Sanford and the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 (TX has had 16,000 babies born since the law took affect)

7. The tearing down of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) programs across the federal government, business and in Higher Education

8. Responsible for the selection of: Amy Coney-Barrett, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh; before that, responsible for the selection of Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts.

9. “Protector” to many conservative young lawyers and states attorney general protègès in things like anti-regulation laws, anti-union laws and a free market society. Close ties to all the conservative SCOTUS judges, and in fact, personally recommends those protègè young guns for clerkships, judgeships, jobs in the White House and across the federal government.

10. Immigration

What makes this so remarkable (and dangerous) is that Leonard Leo is not a politician, nor does he work in ANY branch of government - anywhere. But he’s like a Dark Magician. A cross between the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz (don’t look behind the curtain) and The Man in the High Tower (alternate reality).

And he is PROLIFIC fundraiser. Between 2014 and 2020, tax records show, groups in his orbit raised more than $600 million. His donors include hedge fund billionaire Paul Singer, Texas real estate magnate Harlan Crow and the Koch family. Leonard and his “groups” are True Believers. He has single-handedly changed, the concept of what America ought/should.

Leo himself is a member of the ultra hard-line Catholic group Opus Dei and Amy Coney Barrett is a member of the People of Praise religious group - an obscure Catholic group (where women are sometimes referred to as “handmaids”), and many liken it to a cult.

Did you know, the SCOTUS has a six member Catholic majority: Kavanaugh, Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, and Barrett. Sotomayor is a liberal Catholic, Kagan is Jewish and Brown is a Protetsant. Now I have no issue with Catholics - I was once married to one - but you have to admit that every where the Catholics went - historically, it meant death and destruction to women, same-sex folks, indigenous peoples and slavery to Black people. Those folks who weren’t destroyed were converted.

How was he able to put America on a trajectory of - what I can only call - White Christian Nationalism? How could he single-handedly change so many laws? Well first it was not enough to seat so many conservative justices. But they had to find the “right people, with the right cases” to set before the “right lower judges”. It all starts with the lower courts. The result is a very potent legal system that operates as a political machine.

Does anyone remember the story about an obscure Chicago businessman dying back in 2021 who “bequeath” a sum total of $1.6 billion dollars and put Leo in charge of the trust? It was single, biggest private political donation - ever (they’re calling it “political advocacy - I call it Dark Money). The money is going towards the Federalists Society war chest. So they can find “more of the right people” not only to argue cases but to put more judges, politicians and lawmakers in the “right places.”

The reasons I wanted to write about Leonard Leo is to first -bring him to your attention. Secondly to point out - that he is not a politician nor holds any public office, thirdly - that our very rights and freedoms are being slowly whittled away. The “establishment” and to a very large degree the MSM, are keeping us distracted with fake culture wars, migrant crises, inflation, abortion rights, racism, civil rights and a whole host of issues that make us angry for no reason. All the while the Dark Magician is weaving his spell. These rights - our rights - are being infringed upon by the Dark Magician and others in his group, while we yell and scream and hate on each other.

Many of us are ASLEEP. We are too sleepy and too drowsy to even realize that crimes are perpetrated against us. We wake up every now and again to find that we have one less right than we did before we went to sleep. Yet still, we fight each other.

And I have to ask: is that not too much power for one man to have?

Musk is another with too much power. He’s a different kind of Magician - not Dark - at least not yet.
